Nepali Congress Rangeli’s Press Release on Tax Hike by Rangeli Municipality

In response to the tax hike in various sectors by Rangeli Municipality, the Nepali Congress Rangeli Town Committee has drawn serious attention to the matter. The committee emphasizes that this tax increase places a heavy burden on the local residents, already struggling with financial difficulties.

The majority of the population in Rangeli is living below the poverty line, and the recent economic hardships have exacerbated their situation. Farmers face challenges such as droughts, necessary socio-economic activities are hindered, and essential commodities are scarce. Given the circumstances, the economic conditions of local businesses, poor laborers, and those in irregular professions are also affected.

The town committee views this tax increment decision as inconsiderate and unfair. Therefore, they demand the immediate reversal of the tax hike by Rangeli Municipality. Should this demand be ignored, the Nepali Congress Rangeli Town Committee warns of strong protests.
